At DCK, we have a new opportunity for an experienced Buyer to work within our Buying team to deliver a commercial range that meets and exceeds the customers’ needs whilst maximising the profitability of the brands developing and delivering the product range. You will also work with Merchandising to develop the brand strategy.
Key responsibilities include:
Develop new product types and seasonal offers
Identify key suppliers, understand their strengths and weaknesses
Undertake trips at least twice yearly for product development and negotiation
Work with Visual Merchandising to ensure VMG’s reflects product strategy/trend for relevant timing
Plan buy quantities that reflect the potential sales, lifetime and risk of each line
Manage the critical path ensure ranges/products are delivered on time
Lead weekly trading
Build strong relationships with the Host and attend Host meetings.
Lead, coach and drive the development of the Buying Team.
What are we looking for?
This the perfect opportunity for an experienced Buyer who is looking for a move to a successful fashion focused business. Ideally, you will have worked in a large similar jewellery or accessories retailers however, we would also consider applications from Buyers currently working within large fast fashion retailers.
You must be able to demonstrate the following;
Product, brand and market awareness
Previous experience of developing, implementing and reviewing a strategy and fully completed a trading cycle.
Knowledge and understanding of jewellery manufacturing process and technical terms, sourcing and negotiation.
Good eye for product demonstrating excellent commercial awareness
Strong people skills with a focus to dive and build strong relationships both internally and externally
Strong commercial acumen, comfortable with numbers and analytics
